Life; The Comedy

I present to you, the comedy that is life

Floretta
Her bud extracted before she had the chance to grow
Nipped off just before spring
Ripped of the chance to bloom
But they say she saw the sun too soon
Thus her obsession with it
The dew we know; the silent tears the stem sheds
For the world will never know of the beauty it held

Little Cupid
Pinned and stripped of his wings
It was said that he saw the clouds too soon
For he yearned to float between them
Forced to use his legs yet ridiculed for not using them quite well
The might of his feathery beauty remains a mystery
His tale was never told
His untapped potential long forgotten.

EXPLANATION
This poem in its own style helps to shed light on the comic situation of life. It’s amusing how we often remove people from where their light shines the brightest, place them in a field that’s not theirs then proceed to ridicule them for not scoring hat tricks, what specie of clownery is this? In my opinion, the world would inevitably be a much better place if we just let people be themselves and maximize their various potentials. Imagine a world where everyone is allowed to do whatever truly interests them or resonates with them without worrying if this line of job will pay the bills and what not. The reality that I can only imagine such a world is as comical as it’s sickening.

I’m a little skeptical about this explanation so if you think you have a better one or just anyone at all, feel free to express yourself in the comment section. I’ll be looking forward to it, thank you💕

Remember that there’s strength in vulnerability,

Have an amazing day💜

I can relate to this. When I was finishing secondary school I told my parents I wanted to study psychology and they told me I’d be poor so they picked the course I’m doing rn and so many years later I’m about to graduate and idek wtf I’m doing in this department. It’s not like my cgpa’s bad or anything but tbh I don’t feel like I fit in here and sometimes I just sit and think of what life would’ve been like if I picked something else because I just get so lost at times and I can’t even say these things to my parents. So the thing you said about life 🤝 clownrey, I know very well what it means

  1. Beautiful piece of writing as always Tovia🥺, even plants have different conditions for growth and end up dying in conditions that are not ideal for their development,I can’t imagine people whose greatness we never got to see just because of they were caged in roles/places/situations detrimental to their growth. I remember talking about this with you and I’m glad you wrote about it.💜💜

  2. This topic is such a sensitive one and it’s so funny how it’s the reality of so many people these days. It’s really nice that you thought to write about it and give people who are going through this a little hope. Your explanation of the poems really does justice to them. Beautiful work💜

  3. I personally saw another meaning to it but I don’t know if this is just me projecting; apart from forcing people into places they don’t fit in, to me it symbolizes in some weird way this crazy time limit put on us to achieve even in things we have aptitude for. We’re not allowed enough time to bloom in the sun of our skills and passions which leads us to drop them all too soon and become jaded. We long for those passions but don’t have the courage to reach for them because we’ve been beaten down.
Anyways, you’ve written beautifully as usual 💖
