FROM MY SOUL TO YOURS

For the person that’s struggling. Life is hard, there’s no need to romanticize it, no need to patronize you, let’s just leave it as it is. Life is hard but I’m proud of you, proud of you for waking up and making it to classes even when all you want to do is curl back in bed. I’m proud of you for showing up even when you have absolutely no desire to be seen. Life is hard indeed but like the fighter that you are, you’re pulling through and I’ve never held admiration for anyone else as much as I do you in this moment. I’m happy for you and I’m proud. Yes, life is tough and on some days you’ll give in and lay in bed and I promise you its’ okay to do so. Its’ okay to cry when you feel the need to, it’s okay to have bad days and acknowledging them doesn’t make you less of an optimist, neither does it make you a failure. Know when to push and when to pull, drop the aggressive optimism and allow yourself to be human. You deserve that much.

For the person who everyone criticizes. You do a thousand things right but all everyone is focused on is the one thing you’re doing wrong and its’ upsetting. I see the good you’re doing and I appreciate all your efforts, both big and small. Keep making those moves honey, I promise you that it pays off eventually.

For you who believes beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. They do say that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder so this means that you become the beholder each time you stand in front of a mirror. Each and every time you stand there, you’re given the opportunity to behold all the beauty that you are and all the beauty that you can become. To acknowledge your magnificence and everything in between. When next you look at the beauty in the mirror, tell yourself that you’re an amazing being even though you screw up at times. Remind yourself that it’s okay. Everyone screws up sometimes and it’s from these screw-up’s that we learn to be better. Tell yourself that you’re capable and you better believe it because I do.  Remind yourself that you are worthy of love and you deserve the absolute best because I know you forget it at times. Remind the person staring back at you that you love them, flaws and all. No one else can do it for you.

For the person who chose love. For choosing love every time in a world that has dished you nothing but hate, you’re remarkable. No you’re not stupid, rather you possess a courage very few people can embody and it’s a beautiful sight to behold. Remember though that you’re the most permanent person in your life and so you deserve the love you breed and give more than anyone else so extend all that compassion to yourself.

For you who chose hate. You’ve chosen to give Ceaser what belongs to Ceaser by returning the hate you’ve been given back to the world and that’s okay. I won’t tell you that you’re wrong because your feelings are completely valid and this world really do be somehow sometimes. You have every right to feel this way but I’m a little upset that you let the world exercise power over you. This world doesn’t deserve the power you give it, it doesn’t deserve to change you. For all the apologies you never got, I’m sorry and I’m sorry that you went through all that you went through alone. It’s okay to retreat into your shell and throw your well-deserved pity parties but honey there are parties way more fun than pity parties and I don’t know about you but I’ll love to see you throw an exciting party.

For everyone. Whatever it is you’re going through at the moment, I want you to know that you’ll be fine. I know you’ve heard this so many times but then it’s the truth, life does get better. Of course life gets better only with your consent and your intention but it gets better regardless so hang in there honey, you’re doing an amazing job.
